Sunkeeper Solar Overview Sunkeeper Solar designs and installs solar photovoltaics, cogeneration, and battery energy storage in standalone and hybrid configurations to offset fossil fuel consumption, provide off-grid resiliency, and equip buildings to partake in the clean energy transition. Comprised of an experienced team of installers, electrical workers, engineers, and technicians, with a deep understanding of the New York City clean-energy and construction landscapes, Sunkeeper Solar is an ideal partner for any and all distributed generation projects in the NYC Metro area.
Driver/Solar Installer Primary Requirements - Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant experience driving trucks and vans in New York City
- Willing to work outdoors in all seasons
- Willing to commute throughout the five boroughs to different jobsites
Responsibilities - Drive vans/trucks/cars multiple times a week to deliver materials to Sunkeeper jobsites
- Safely transport Sunkeeper material and equipment through New York City
- Load/Unload equipment from van/trucks/cars at Sunkeeper storage facilities and jobsites
- Maintain organization at Sunkeeper storage facilities
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Read and understand plan, elevation, and electrical line diagrams, accurately translate such documents into physical space
- Own and maintain all necessary hand tools, all desired elective safety equipment, and all required Installer-owned safety equipment (such as work boots)
- Maintain all assigned, company-owned equipment, including safety equipment
- Treat clients, general contractors, other trades, co-workers, and members of the public with kindness and respect
- Comply with all company policies, including company safety policy
- Comply with all valid Foreperson (or other supervisor) instructions
- Have reliable access to transportation such as to arrive punctually at the beginning of each work day
- Maintain a valid 40-hour SST Card pursuant to Local Law 196
- Perform the physical work involved in the construction of solar PV arrays, and battery ESS systems:
- Move materials (must be able to safely lift 50lbs)
- Install attachments such as machine bolts, masonry anchors, wood screws, and any other hardware called for by project specifications
- Bend and install electrical raceways and conduits
- Mount electrical enclosures
- Pull and terminate wire
- Assemble proprietary and/or engineered structural elements such as ballast pans, rails, and standard steel profiles
- Maintain a clean jobsite, and a clean warehouse
Reporting : Driver/Solar Installers will report directly to the Foreperson.
Requirements : - Must have valid Driver’s License
- Class A or B CDL Driver’s License is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant experience driving trucks and vans
- Must have experience driving 15’ box trucks
- Minimum 2 years in the construction industry
- Solar or Electrical Industry Preferred
- Must have a clean driving record – No serious violations in the past 5 years
- Ability to travel to job sites in the NYC metropolitan area
- Physical requirements: Applicants should be able to work outside during hot and cold weather, repeatedly lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, use standard hand tools, and follow verbal and auditory instructions during on-site work. The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- If not already active, applicant will be required to get their OSHA 30 & NYC 40-hour SST cards (Sunkeeper will pay for the classes).

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
