Location: Cleveland, OH
Job Summary: Provide critical support to plant-level Manufacturing Engineers, spearheading benchmarking and standardization initiatives across the organization. Collaborate closely with these engineers to develop and enhance manufacturing processes. Support various corporate functions, including Tooling, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Engineering. Assist in continuous improvement activities, implement new processes, and drive standardization and benchmarking efforts. Oversee, coordinate, and audit maintenance standards organization-wide, and compile and publish key performance indicators as defined by management.
Job Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required, preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- 3-5 years of direct experience in Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment, with a preference for metal stamping experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering disciplines such as PFMEAs, statistical analysis, and Six Sigma practices.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in implementing and utilizing Lean manufacturing principles.
Job Responsibilities: - Drive initiatives to improve safety, quality, and waste reduction throughout manufacturing processes.
- Collect and maintain production performance data for all facilities, assisting in data analysis.
- Conduct and maintain the organization's capacity analysis matrix, recommending capacity adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate with plant Manufacturing Engineers to ensure best practices are communicated and standardized company wide.
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) efforts at each plant, assisting ME leads in Kaizen events and maintaining a corporate continuous improvement scorecard.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Quality Manager to develop and document processes that meet or exceed defined Process Capability Ratios.
- Assist plant Manufacturing Engineers with corrective actions and developing mistake-proofing solutions.
- Provide engineering support to plant Maintenance Departments to enhance existing equipment, specify new/replacement equipment, standardize preventative maintenance practices, standardize documentation usage (EAM), and audit plants for compliance.
- Conduct annual and semiannual maintenance meetings with plant Maintenance Supervisors.
- Support the Corporate Tooling Manager on various projects.
- Maintain a database of equipment suppliers for all plants to facilitate new/replacement equipment and spare parts procurement.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and document annual and semiannual ME planning meetings.
- Collaborate with plant Manufacturing Engineers to develop production standards, ergonomic and safety requirements, plant layouts, and material handling requirements.
- Manage manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, job aids, and process flow diagrams.
- Emphasize lean manufacturing principles and leverage relevant experience.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
